Australian born Peta Wilson started acting in the mid-1990’s, with her breakout role coming as the lead in ‘La Femme Nikita’, a hit television show. Scott said she had reservations about appearing on Dark Angel, just because she didn’t want to disappoint fans. “Not being a comic book fan, being thrown into that and seeing the extreme – it’s taken very seriously. So I tried to do as much learning as I could about it so I wasn’t mean or anything”.

38. Heather Graham
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Dr. Judy in Lost in Space
This Wisconsin born beauty brought a lot more than her looks to the 2002 film, ‘Lost in Space’. Graham, who is most well known for her roles in ‘Boogie Nights’ and ‘Drugstore Cowboy’, seemed an unlikely pick for Dr. Judy Robinson. But she surprised audiences everywhere with a great performance. She might not always get the chance to play a scientist, but Graham certainly raised the bar playing this smart, sexy doctor.
37. Claire Danes
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Yvaine in Stardust
With roles in films like Romeo and Juliet, Evening and Brokedown Palace, you might not expect this former Yale student to appear on our list. Sci-fi/Fantasy role: Winona Kirk, Star Trek: The Movie

Playing the role of James Kirk’s mother(Capt. Kirk) solidified Jennifer into Sci-fi grandeur, I mean if you are the mom of Capt. Kirk, come on! While Jennifer’s role in the film may not have been the flashiest she was still able to show-off her gorgeous smile.
31. Evan Rachel Wood
Sci-fi/Fantasy Role: Sophie-Anne Leclerq, True Blood
While her role on the HBO smash hit, True Blood, may have have been brief, Evan Rachel Wood rocked the socks off viewers in her 2-episode run. Teenage boys took to their rooms when they watched ‘Flash Gordon’, and that is why Ornella has made our list.
28. Jennifer Connelly
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Sarah in Labyrinth
She may be an Academy Award winner, but that doesn’t mean that Jennifer Connelly only does stuffy, high brow films. Labyrinth, which she co-starred alongside David Bowie, is not only responsible for jump starting her very successful career, but it also helped her make our list! Jennifer has dabbled in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre since Labyrinth, but nothing has had quite the same impact.
27. Estella Warren
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Daena in Planet of the Apes
When we got the news back in 2000 that there was going to be a remake of the cult classic Planet of the Apes, we were skeptical, but when we saw that Estella Warren was going to be in it; we thought the film could stand a chance. We were wrong. In spite of the movie being one of the worst remakes, the audience was treated with the beautiful Estella Warren, so I guess every cloud does have a silver lining.
26. Jane Fonda
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Barbarella in Barbarella
Jane Fonda has certainly had her fair share of controversy over the years. But unfortunately, this list isn’t ‘The Hottest Women to ever publicly criticize War and Government’. So we’ll be recognizing her for her lack of clothes and involvement in sexual situations in the sci-fi classic, ‘Barbarella’. The film, which is set in the future, is the story of a woman who is given a mission to help save earth, and along the way discovers sexual intercourse, and a machine that kills through sexual pleasure. Tell me you don’t want to see this movie!
25. Lena Headey
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Sarah Connor on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Though she wasn’t as ripped as the original Sarah Connor, Lena Headey was still a pretty tough woman. Terminator fans everywhere rejoiced when Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was announced. Although Lena wasn’t hugely accepted by the fan base at first, she quickly showed that she had what it took to do the job. That’s why she has landed herself on our list of Hottest Women of Sci-Fi.
24. Malin Akerman
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Silk Spectre in Watchmen
When your mother is a Swedish model, you automatically have a better shot at making any of our lists. Combine that with the fact that Malin is gorgeous, talented, and decided to take on the role of Silk Spectre, and you know she is a shoe in! Malin got her start in modeling, but she is transitioning successfully to film. If you just can’t get enough of this beauty, be sure to check her out in her upcoming film, ‘Elektra Luxx’.

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Seven of Nine on Star Trek Voyager
Half human or not, Jeri Ryan is hot on Star Trek Voyager! Trekies had something new to fantasize about when Jeri began filming as Seven of Nine back in 1997. After a very public divorce, including allegations that her husband wanted her to perform random sex acts all over town, Jeri finally quit her work on Star Trek Voyager. All I have to say is if Jeri Ryan is aboard the Voyager, then “Beam me up, Scotty”.
22. Morena Baccarin
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Inara on Firefly and Anna on V
Whether it is commanding an alien invasion of Earth on ‘V’ or travelling the galaxy in ‘Firefly’, Morena Baccarin does it with class. This hot lady of sci-fi isn’t disappointing to her fans and we hope that unlike Firefly, V gets a second season!
21. Evangeline Lily
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Kate on Lost
If I were ever to have my plane crash on a mysterious island that was inhabited by strange scientists and mysterious events, I could only hope that it would be with Evangeline Lily. As Lost nears the premiere of its final season, I hope that we get to see a lot more of this kick ass lady.
20. Monica Bellucci
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Persephone in The Matrix Reloaded
If you combine an Italian super model and a science fiction film, you are bound to have an explosive box office. With the addition of Monica Bellucci, The Matrix saw its highest grossing film of the series, making over $742 Million world wide. Playing the unhappy wife in ‘Matrix Reloaded’ boosted Monica’s career, and now you can catch her in her upcoming film, ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’!
19. Rose Byrne
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Cassie in Sunshine
Rose Byrne was cast in Sunshine after Danny Boyle saw her in Troy. Well, I guess “thanks” are in order to Mr. Boyle. Byrne’s portrayal of the emotional, loving pilot in Sunshine not only make the movie worth it, but it makes you realize smart girls might just be hotter!
18. Kris Williams
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Self on Ghosthunters
This New England hottie can install carpet for you, help your order a handgun or track down your Paranormal activity. For the past few years, Kris Williams or “Bait” has been researching the paranormal activity around the US and even a special assignment in Ireland. Not only is she bad-ass she doesn’t scare easily.
17. Scarlett Johansson
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Jordan two Delta in The Island
She’s blonde, curvy, and has the lips of an angel. If you put Scarlett Johannson in a commerical for the SyFy channel, she’d be likely to make this list. However, her portrayal of Jordan Two Delta in 2005’s, The Island only adds to her sci-fi beauty! Starring as the clone Jordan Two Delta, Johannson brings the ass kicking/independent women role to a whole new level. While the thought of clones can sometimes be intimidating, would the world be such a bad place with a few extra Scar Jo’s running around?
16. Emma Watson
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Hermione in Harry Potter
When Emma Watson began starring as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, she was only 9 years old. By the third film in the series, she had become an object of affection for geeky teenage boys around the world. With her beautiful smile and rocking body, this young actress is sure to have a huge career ahead of her. She might not be kicking ass on screen phsycially, but if it’s a mental battle, Emma has your back! Brains and beauty? What a dangerous combination!
15. Milla Jovovich
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Leeloo in The Fifth Element
With her jaw dropping attire in The Fifth Element, Milla Jovovich gave sci-fi nerds everywhere something to drool over. Jovovich made our list because of her stunning beauty and her smoking hot body. 14. Charlize Theron
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Aeon Flux in Aeon Flux
With a broad resume and a ton of acting talent, Charlize Theron certainly deserves a place on our list. In Aeon Flux, Charlize plays the title character, who is an assassin clone sent to kill the leader of a group of scientists. This action packed film, which was released in 2005, didn’t receive great reviews, and made 10 million less than it’s $62 Million budget, but it starred Charlize in a skin tight jumpsuit, so it was well worth the 2 hours!
13. Zoe Saldana
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role: Uhura in Star Trek
Zoe Saldana has come a long way from dancing her way through films like ‘Drumline’ and ‘Center Stage’. After starring in block buster hits such as Pirates of the Carribbean 3 and Vantage Point, landed the role of Uhura. Giving Uhura a sexy edge she didn’t have before, Saldana became one of Hollywood’s hottest “it” girls. You can see her next in James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’.
12. Grace Park
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Number 8: Battlestar Galactica
This Canadian actress is best known for her sci-fi role, Number Eight on Battlestar Galactica. Although her character might not be as crucial as hottie Tricia Helfer, the show wouldn’t be the same with out this beauty! If you’re missing your Grace “fix”, be sure to check her out on CBS’s, The Border.
11. Halle Berry
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Storm in X-Men
Halle Berry has come a long way from competing in beauty pageants in Cleveland, Ohio. This beauty has made her mark in so many films, it’s hard to choose which role truly defines her as a Sci-Fi/Fantasy hottie. But after hours of careful selection, Halle as Storm took the cake.
10. Zooey Deschanel
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Trillian in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
Has anyone ever looked quite so hot in a jumpsuit? Zooey Deschanel starred as the lovely Trillian in the 2005 Film Adaptation of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and from that moment on, she joined this super hot top 10 in the dreams and fantasies of men around the world.
9. Natalie Portman
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Padme Amidala in The Star Wars Trilogy
Women who are famous for quotes like “I’d rather be smart than a movie star” aren’t always the most attractive. But Natalie Portman is definitely an exception. This Israeli-American actress, who completed her undergrad at Harvard while filming Star Wars, is in our top ten because she’s smart and beautiful.
8. Tricia Helfer
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Number Six on Battlestar Galactica
Tricia Helfer got her start on Battlestar Galactica back in 2003, and she has been showing sci fi geeks her hot body ever since! Quickly becoming a fan favorite, Helfer played the role of Number 6 with grace, beauty and most importantly, sex appeal. When asked about her perfect man, Helfer replied, “I’ve never gone for the smooth, suave Latin or French lover. That usually makes me think they’re trying to pull one over on me. I lump Canada and the States together. I like good old North American boys.”
7. Raquel Welch
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Cora in Fantastic Voyage
Raquel Welch may be most well-known for her iconic, bikini-clad portrayal of early humanity in One Million Years B.C., but the movie that made her a star was the Fox hit, Fantastic Voyage. Welch plays an assistant to a team of doctors who are shrunk (you heard me correctly) in a submarine and placed in the blood stream of a famous doctor to get rid of a blood clot in his brain. It may sound like an episode of The Magic School Bus, but hey, it’s Science Fiction, right?
6. Summer Glau
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: River Tam on Firefly, Serenity, Cameron in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
In Firefly, Summer Glau played the highly intelligent, albeit creepy, government runaway River Tam. Glau brought an eerie, child like quality to the character, all the while remaining hot and kicking ass. When Firefly was canceled by Fox (big surprise) after only 11 episodes, fans worried when they’d see the lovely Miss Glau again. After reprising her role for the film Serenity, Glau went on to star as Cameron in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, where she played a sexy assassin. Are you beginning to see a theme?
5. Jessica Alba
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Sue Storm in The Fantastic Four, Max Guevara in Dark Angel
If this was a list of the most talented actresses in Hollywood, then Jessica Alba might not be ranked quite so high. Unless of course her talent is getting out of a pool or wearing leather. However, this list is the hottest women of Sci-Fi and there she definitely qualifies. I can’t think of anything worse than Jessica Alba actually being an invisible woman, but she plays Sue Storm wonderfully. Her stint as Max on Dark Angel has become a cult classic over the years, playing one of the hottest super human/enhanced soldiers ever.
4. Carrie Fisher
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Princess Leia in The Star Wars Trilogy
Whenever you hear the words “hot” “sci-fi” and “women” together, most people think of at least one image. Carrie Fisher in a gold bikini laying provocatively against Jabba the Hut. Men have probably never been more jealous of a fat, disgusting slob than in that particular instance. The reason Carrie ranks so incredibly high on our list is the fact that that gold bikini has been the subject of men’s fantasies for over 40 years. That is some serious stay power. She might look a little rough around the edges now, but we can all remember the good old days.
3. Anna Paquin
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Sookie Stackhouse on True Blood, Rogue in X-Men
When Anna Paquin made her debut in ‘The Piano’ as a 9 year old child, the world didn’t quite know what she had in store for them. But boy did she grow up pretty. After successful roles in film, including her portrayal of Rogue in the X-Men films, Paquin took on her hottest fantasy role yet. Starring as Sookie Stackhouse, the human telepath on the hit HBO show True Blood, this hottie keeps audiences tuning in every week. Some hardcore Sci-Fi/Fantasy fans might claim True Blood is more horror, but if an abundance of Vampires, shape shifters, werewolves, fairies and telepaths doesn’t qualify for the fantasy category, I don’t know what does!
2. Megan Fox
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Mikaela in Transformers
Who would have ever thought that a role in a film about the popular 80s toy, would launch Megan Fox into Superstar status. Starring along side Shia LeBouf, in the mega blockbusters, Transformers and Transformers 2, Megan has become one of the sexiest stars around. Her looks may overshadow her acting but really, who cares? You aren’t watching films like Transformers to see Oscar contenders.
1. Kate Beckinsale
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Roles: Selene in Underworld
Women may know her for her roles in romantic comedies such as ‘Click’ or ‘Serendipity’, but guys know her for one reason: her role as the immortal Selene in Underworld. As the star of this universe where Lycans and Vampires are created through a mutated virus, Beckinsale manages to stay soft and beautiful while kicking some major ass. If it sounds too good to be true, it’s because this series might have overstayed it’s welcome. But that doesn’t make her any less hot.
